A disappointing start reflecting the same game and result last year.
Vince Paul 3-1 Robin Mace
Dick Foskett 0-3 Clive Bowman
Mike Lawson 1-3 Ron Raye
Vince played a very tricky but generally slow opponent, Dick played a very tricky and quick opponent, and Mike should have done better against an average opponent. The courts were very hot which did not assist the drop shot duo but Vince's man had holes in him, from explosive shots coming off the wall thick and fast!

Our first win, 2-1! Dick kicked off & walked through the first two games, then found himself 2-7 down but gave himself a talking to and finished in good form. I was next in what for the first two games was very tight, and then my opponent started to suffer from a knee problem and my game became a lot easier. Vince played a very skilled player and amassed 4 points in the first two games but took the third and was leading 7-4 in the fourth but his wily opponent came back again.

Our first 3-0 win of the season! Last year we won 2-1 and lost 2-1 to them so a pleasing outcome, the full result:

An unexpected 3-0 victory at least to me, helped by the no show of their no. 1. Herewith the full result.

The same result as our first meeting with Berkhampstead 3-0 but achieved in better fashion! Dick served for the second game against John who walked over me in the first match. It does make a difference playing at home.

The good news is we lost better away than at home but the result was 3-0 to Oakleigh Park as follows.

We have three games remaining, with the first on Wednesday 3 March against Potters Bar, away and the next against St Albans away on the 10th.

Another surprise with St Albans, they were short a man for the second time so we managed a convincing win, 3-0.
